The pace of our lives is dictated by the speed of cars, planes, and communication technology. At this speed, it’s impossible to notice anything but a mere glimpse of the environment around us.
We’d like to invite you to escape the hectic pace of everyday life and join our walking group. Life cycles in the Beeliar Wetlands are constantly changing, so walking through the area is always an adventure. Each time you visit you will enjoy a different experience, depending on the time of year and time of day. You could see:
Some of the other birds you may see include the Great White Egret, Rainbow Bee eater, several types of duck such as the black, blue-billed, musk and mountain duck, wading birds including banded stilts, coots, grebes, swamp harriers, whistling kites, little eagles, goshawks, and sparrow hawks.
Beeliar Wetlands walking group.

We hope that you can join us to walk in the park and appreciate our precious wetland lakes and bushland. This unique area is a fantastic source of inspiration for all of us to take greater care of the natural spaces that exist alongside our developed ones.
As the poet Wallace Stevens writes:
'In my room, the world is beyond my understanding; But when I walk I see that it consists of three or four hills and a cloud' (Stevens, 1955, p. 57).
